Becoming a Christian is more than just going to church, it’s a heart change. It’s about having a relationship with God and it’s about making God number one in your life. For me, it didn’t happen all at once, it took some time. I grew up in the church, so I knew about God, but I didn’t have a relationship with him. (You know how you can be around someone and not really know him or her, that was me and God.) It wasn’t until I was older that I decided to commit my life to him. It’s been the best decision that I’ve ever made. If you’re interested in starting a relationship with God too, it’s really easy.

  • A—Admit that I am a sinner (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23). It’s admitting that you’re not perfect and that there are things that you’ve done or thought that you know you shouldn’t have.

  • B—Believe that Jesus is God’s Son, that He died for us, and rose from the dead. His death and resurrection have saved us (John 3:16, Romans 5:8-10). For me, that means that there’s this gap between God and me and the only way that gap can be bridged is through Jesus’ life, death and resurection.

  • C—Confess that He is my Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9-13). For me that means more than just saying that I believe in God, it’s trying my best to make God number one in my life. Making Him number one means I live my life for Him and no one else. It doesn’t mean that I always get it right, but it does mean that I try my best to live up to God’s standards.

If you’re willing to believe all of these things, maybe the first thing you can do is join me in this short prayer.

“Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I haven’t always done the things that you wanted me to do. Please forgive me. I believe that when you died you were paying the penalty for my mistakes. I know that there is no greater love than this. Help me and give me the strength to make you number one in my life.”

The second thing that you can do is start going to church. If you’re not already a part of a church family, we’d love for you to join ours.

The third thing is start reading the Bible. Below is link for a Bible Reading Plan.

If you’ve decided to make God number one in your life, I’m so excited and if you’re not ready yet that’s okay. Just let know when you are. If there’s questions that you have about God, feel free to reach out.

Blessings,

Pastor Marcus
